The Tanween is a term for a letter having a short vowel with a hidden Nun saakin. Instead of writing any short vowels َ- ِ- ُ- plus letter Nun saakin نْ - respective vowel sign is doubled as a shortcut. TheTanween signs are generally indicated at the end of a noun, which make a noun indefinite.
